Has been illegal since 2021 – only now does it cost the choir card

It doesn't just look stupid. In 2021, it also became illegal with the so-called Carolina Squat. After a transition period, the police in the US state of North Carolina are now cracking down on motorists.

In the US state of North Carolina, it is popular to do the Carolina Squat on SUVs and pickups.

Specifically, it involves raising the cars a lot at the front and, in turn, lowering them unmanageably at the back. In 2021, however, it was made illegal in the state. Read more about it here .

Jalopnik writes that.

In the month of June, there will be stalls if the police in the state see cars driving around like that. However, the penalty is on the 'low' end. The first time it costs 100 dollars, then 200 and 300 dollars the third time.

In the fourth case, the choir card is valid for 6 months. However, it is not only in North Carolina that motorists drive around on the wrong side of the traffic law without thinking about it.

It also happens on the other side of the Atlantic. So here at home. Back in September last year, a then 29-year-old woman had to hand in her choir card to the police for an 'everyday offence'.

In the transcript it was stated that the woman was doing 112 km/h on the Fynske Motorvej near Langeskov when she was stopped by the police. However, a subsequent measurement showed that she was keeping far too little distance from the traffic in front.

The woman was completely down at a distance to the anchor between 11.2 and 13.7 metres. The law says a minimum of 24 metres. And so row the choir card. Read more about it here .
