Embarrassing: Electric Jaguar had to be charged with a gasoline generator

The next electric car from Jaguar – called the Type 00 – appeared unexpectedly at Paris Fashion Week. Here it became necessary to charge the car with petrol.

Jaguar is preparing to lose 85 percent of its customers when they plan to only build electric cars in 2026. However, Paris Fashion Week ended with a gasoline generator.

Specifically, Jaguar's prototype, which very unexpectedly appeared during fashion week as a PR stunt, ran out of steam.

And so the car brand's technicians had to come up with alternative solutions since there was no charging station nearby.

The solution was a Defitec 2000i. In short, a generator that makes electricity using gasoline. It naturally attracted a lot of curious glances when the Jaguar people ran dry.

Previously, the Jaguar Type 00 has only been shown in pictures. But during Paris Fashion Week, a very blue prototype of the car unexpectedly appeared. Previously, the car has been shown in a very bright bright red and a lighter baby blue color.

Jaguar will not sell electric cars for less than 1 million kroner

Fashion Week visitors were then able to see Jaguar's new concept for the first time ever in 'live'. Most were probably most shocked that the former British car brand is sticking with the very angular design.

One thing that photos from fashion week don't answer is what the inside of the Type 00 actually looks like. In fact, there are no photos of the interior at all. That is, other than the ones Jaguar itself has shown.

The electric car is built on Jaguar's own electric car platform called JEA. It has previously been said that the electric car will have a range of 770 kilometers. And that charging can be done in a quarter of an hour. If you can be satisfied with a range of 320 kilometers.

There is much evidence that Jaguar is well aware that by only building electric cars, it is throwing away the majority of its current customer base.

In fact, director of parts, all of Rawdon Glover, expects that as many as 85 percent of customers will disappear by 2026. And maybe that's because they really can't afford a new car from the brand at that time.

Jaguar will not sell cars that cost less than one million kroner from the factory. Instead, the new strategy is for the brand to be an alternative to Bentley and Rolls-Royce. And not like Mercedes, BMW and Audi.

However, Rawdon Glover is busy telling the media that Jaguar doesn't bother with its 'old customers' at all. On the contrary, he is taking a sharp dig at critics of the brand's new branding, logo and design, whom he calls intolerant.

On the other hand, the brand has not had luck with the electric cars it has already built. The American importer has bought back several thousand cars due to fire hazards. Something the Danish importer refuses to do, however.
