Rivian denies that one is short on problems. Still, the American brand is now closing the order books and the assembly line.
American Rivian has just produced car number 100,000. But it will also be one of the last.
At least for a while. Because the brand has said that they are closing both the order books and the assembly line at the factory in the city of Normal in the state of Illinois.
Rivian says production will be idle until later this summer. But that it will only affect special orders.
CarBuzz writes that.

The car brand denies that there are problems at the factory. Or that production is put on hold in order to empty the warehouses of cars.
But general production will also be at a standstill between 5 and 30 April. Rivian claims it is to upgrade the equipment at the factory.
Rivian says that with the new facilities it will be possible to reduce production costs and generally improve efficiency by 30 percent. Whether this will benefit future customers in the form of cheaper cars, however, history does not report anything.
However, there are plans for cheaper cars at Rivian. In March, the brand presented two new models – a smaller SUV and a crossover. Among other things, Rivian will build them with a much smaller wiring network. Read more about it here .
The plan is also that especially the new SUV, which the brand calls R2, should be the entry ticket to the European market. And although there are already parallel imported Rivian models in Denmark, the brand has not said anything about whether Denmark is part of those plans.
Rivian is not the only car brand that is currently idle. So does Fisker. The brand, headed by Danish Henrik Fisker, defends itself by saying that it is to get better control of the business.
