Angry neighbors give up suing famous racetrack

Angry neighbors are now giving up suing the people behind the legendary Laguna Seca racetrack. However, this required a settlement.

The legendary race track Laguna Seca, located in the US state of California, is avoiding a lawsuit from a number of angry neighbors.

This happens after the parties have reached a settlement. The Monterey County Weekly writes that.

The grumpy neighbors came along long after Laguna Seca opened in 1957. Still, they felt entitled to sue the course for nuisance.

The settlement means that the association behind the race track, 'Friends of Laguna Seca', undertakes to investigate the noise level from the track. The association says, however, that such an investigation was already planned, because the neighbors began to threaten legal action.

Now that the angry neighbors have been silenced, the transfer of the track can proceed as planned.

The area where the track is located was previously owned by the county of Monterey County. But it must now be handed over to Monterey County, which expects to invest $10 million in the track after the handover.

However, some of the profits from the track must be returned to the public coffers. Specifically, Monterey County must have 10 percent of the profits from 2028.

Here at home, grumpy neighbors unfortunately also plague motorsport events. In Copenhagen, angry neighbors and parties at the town hall complain about the noise from the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix.

And in Aarhus, a number of angry neighbors had to see themselves beaten in the legal system when they were not successful in claiming that Aarhus Municipality owed them money after Classic Race Aarhus went bankrupt. Read more about it here .
